Bio

If you are born in Oberstdorf, you would probably get your winter sport gene automatically. Johannes loves his land and mountains of Allgäu. Even as a child he was amazed by cross-country and downhill skiing. Nevertheless, Johannes decided to dedicate himself to Nordic combined and got the first achievements very quick. As a 16-year-old he participated in his first World Cup, as a 18 received the first Olympic medal, as a 19 became three times silver World Championships medalist, in age of 22 he got the second Olympic medal, and in 25 he is a six-time World Champion. In 2017 Johannes was annouced as a sport personality of year in Germany. At leisure, Johannes enjoys being together with his newly married wife Lissi, friends and family. He looks far and sure about his future after sports: he studies industrial engineering in Kempten.
